VP of IT, Orange, CA - FILLED

Our client is looking for a VP of Technology in Orange County, CA to build a top-notch technology team that includes Infrastructure, Applications, and Systems that will help the company in their next growth phase. You will align the technology team’s strategy to the business strategy. You will work with the existing staff however have the ability to make changes as needed. You will recommend relevant technology directions and solutions based off the needs of the business as well as customers. You will ensure the company has the right security and compliance tools in place to protect the data. You will work with the vendors, establishing the best relationships for the most effective, applicable applications, hardware, products as well as service providers. There is lots of optimization to be done. You will partner with the marketing team to help them drive business. This is truly an opportunity to relaunch a technology team to better support the business. You will have a huge impact on the organization and the overarching success of the business.

Fast forward a year, what will you be doing?

You have partnered with leadership as well as external customers to accomplish several critical projects that have increased efficiencies. You will have increased customer satisfaction. You have delivered these projects on time because you have set clear, reasonable goals and communicated these effectively with the team. Your department is transparent with excellent lines of communication to the business and customers. You are seen a more than a “technologist.” You are helping others perform at their highest level so they can manage themselves and their projects.

How will you get there?

30 days:

You will meet with the leadership team to understand their vision of how technology will partner flawlessly with the company
Meet the existing technology team, start to learn their capabilities and strengths
Learn the existing systems and processes
Work with the external partners that are helping shape the new technology direction

90 days:

You have created a clear plan on the future state of your team and department
You are starting to implement that plan
Map out the IT strategy for the balance of the year as well as 2017
Realign the department if applicable
There is transparency in your organization
You have created the right amount of reporting needed for the business that allows that transparency
You have added another layer of visibility on the data
You’re interacting seamlessly with the business and external customers
You own the entire program, moving ahead, full steam

What you will need:

Bachelor’s degree, Advance degree preferred
Minimum of 10 years progressive levels of management
At least 5 years at a senior IT leadership or consulting
Implemented technology, both Infrastructure & Applications
Oversaw development of systems
Budgeting experience
Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship
