Our client is looking for a Director of Mergers &Acquisitions focusing on Corporate Development to lead their strategic & implementation practice for the West Coast, based in Seattle. They are 100% employee owned. You don’t have to wait to a certain level, take out a loan or buy into it. Equity is yours the day you join! Your time will be focused on client delivery, practice development as well as growing the business.

There is an already successful M&A practice with the firm. You will be working with clients focusing on selling and delivering value through integration readiness assessments, target due diligence, integration strategy and planning, and post-close integration management. In addition to selling and client service delivery, you will be an integral part of their team that helps shape their office culture and participate significantly in the entrepreneurial process of growing an office with strong double digit growth. This includes strategy, recruiting, team building and practice development. You will lead teams serving client across industries with specific capabilities in mergers & acquisitions. You will manage M&A transactions at any point in the M&A deal lifecycle. You will provide overall integration leadership to clients including leading the IMO (Integration Management office) setup and management, leading various functional work streams, and provide MA& mentoring to clients and internal resources tools. You will be identifying new business opportunities as well creating work plans, pricing estimates and risk assessments for prospects. You will come from the Professional Services/ Management Consulting industry with a background in M&A integration strategy, planning, post-merger integration management as well as functional & operational work stream management and execution. You have a strong Corporate Development background in industry or Management Consulting. You execute flawlessly. You are an entrepreneur at heart. You love being in front of clients.

Fast forward a year, what will you be doing?

You will have identified and closed new business that involves strategy, sourcing, negotiations, & diligence. You know Corporate Development both on the buy & sell side. You are working with CFO’s on M&A potentials. You have led successful strategic post acquisition integration projects. You have a great network. You’re active in the M&A Corporate Development associations. You know key Corporate Development officers.


How will you get there?

30 days:

Get to know the other Service and Industry line leaders not only on the West Coast but throughout the entire company
Spend time in Chicago, meeting the leadership team & getting to know best practices
You will be working on proposals
Get to know the strengths to identify areas to grow the practice

90 days: 

Create the vision for the practice
Engaging customers on your practice
You understand the success factors of the organization
Know your measureable objectives and work toward them
Know your clients and their environments
You have had client development meetings
You’re involved with community events or charities

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Advance degree preferred
  • Professional Services or Management Consulting industry experience
  • 15 + years of managing complex merger integration, operational and or IT projects
  • Functional expertise in finance, human resources and IT
  • Private equity buyouts and or strategic mergers & acquisitions
  • Proven business developers with extensive track record of prospecting new clients and maintaining existing relationships in the Northwest market
  • Successfully build a well performing team; great ability to mentor
  • Superior full end-to-end project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time
  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship
