Global Director of Channel Management, Seattle

Our client is looking for a Director of Channel Management for their global Amazon account in their corporate headquarters in Seattle. You will own the entire Amazon account and grow across different regions of the world. This is a new position based on the growth goals of the company. Our client already has strong relationships with certain regions with Amazon. They just need someone to drive it. Therefore, you have support of the team. You will be partnering with the various business line executives to include Sales, IT, Marketing and Supply Chain, to develop the strategy to optimize the Amazon channel. You will solidify the KPI’s including the revenue goals, margins and marketing ROAS and ACOST. You will own the 1P strategy as well as the 3P strategy. You will create the global timelines and targets. You will own the P/L of the business. You will develop the appropriate reports/dashboards to track and monitor the program’s metrics.

One of the key components to the success of this opportunity; you will have the support of an established, successful global business. However, will have the autonomy to create to be successful. Our client already has a very successful Amazon business so you’re not starting from scratch. You’re walking into a nice piece of business. You will identify the customer’s needs, the client satisfaction and the overall client relationship. You will manage all aspects of the Amazon relationship.

Fast forward a year, what will you be doing?

You have created and executed the Amazon global plan for each region as well have optimized marketing to include both ACOST and ROAS. You have doubled the Amazon spend. You are managing all the marketing services that Amazon provides. You understand your global P/L. The 1P & 3P strategy is executed and aligned with the company’s goals. You are optimizing the spend vs. the growth. The European market is penetrated. You’ve grown the Canadian market. You are starting to expand into Mexico as well as North Asia. You are respected, happy, and proud of your work.

How will you get there?

30 days:

  • Meet with the business line leaders as well as your team

90 days:

  • You have created the strategy and are starting to execute the plan

  • You have evaluated the internal and external resources need to grow the business

  • You have created KPI metrics that you are reporting on to measure the success of the business

6 months:

  • You have achieved ½ your revenue goals

  • You’re driving key relationships

  • Your strategic plan is executed and you’re driving that plan in each of the regions

 

What you will need:

  • Proven ability to be entrepreneurial, “roll us your sleeves” and develop solutions that are budget-conscious, simple and results oriented

  • High-proficiency inn most modern trends, tools, processes and techniques needed to build a great experience for the customers online

  • Deep knowledge and experience working in Amazon’s Vendor Central

  • Recent and relevant expertise in developing and executing successful eCommerce strategies to drive sales through 1P and 3P channels with Amazon

  • Expert knowledge of leading complex digital projects

  • Proven knowledge of how to measure quality of a customer experience and create/receive feedback to plan future customer journey changes and/or feature development

  • Experience marketing international B2B brands highly desired product sold in the Business Industrial category or similar

  •  Successfully worked with or for Amazon Private Label Team (Basics) and Exclusive Brands Teams (Bounty Brands) highly desired

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Marketing, Business, Psychology or related field; MBA or Master’s degree in Marketing a plus

  • 5+ years of eCommerce and digital marketing

  • 5+ year working in an eCommerce environment managing a brand store as well as 1P & 3P channels

  • 5+ years working for Amazon and/or for an Amazon vendor; international experience with Amazon a plus

The company was founded by an international business graduate who spent time right after school living in Asia, he started a company to address what he saw as a developing worldwide demand for barrier protection and infection control products at a time when there were limited channels to sell. Today, our client sells to both industrial and medical channels across North America, Asia and Europe. They have had 17% growth year-over-year for the past 15 years.
