Our client is looking for a Manager for their Corporate Development practice to support their internal M&A activities for the firm. You will be working with key business partners and will be highly visible at the most senior levels at our client, including the CEO, CFO, COO and the Board of Directors. You will be generating, managing and executing mergers and acquisitions, minority investments and strategic partnerships for the firm. You will have direct impact on the firm’s strategic direction, top-line growth and profitability. This includes all their industries and practices. You also have equity in the company. You don’t have to buy into it, take out a loan or wait until a certain level. It’s yours from the day you join.


You will be monitoring the M&A landscape and key corporate announcements to develop views on key industry activities and overall market trends. You will identify appropriate acquisition opportunities that support our client’s strategic priorities through interaction with senior business leaders, investment bankers and organic pipeline generation. In addition, you will be supporting all of the M&A processes including market research, business case development, strategic and financial analysis and valuation. You will evaluate benefits of potential acquisition and manage the process of building both internal and external consensus. There will be multiple acquisition opportunities so you will be managing the process of building both internal and external consensus as well as leading all pre-transaction diligence efforts. You will be working with the team on evaluating synergy opportunities and risk potential transactions. There will be opportunity to establish the ongoing process improvements, skill sets and review methodology to improve and enhance their corporate development competency.

You will see and understand the full breath of all M&A deals for our client. You are not transactional. Rather understanding the full end-to-end; souring through closing. You have successfully taken a project or opportunity from beginning to end. You’re collaborating with senior leadership throughout the entire our client organization. You’re negotiating and closing deals. You’re working with autonomy. You’re collaborating with the team. You’re fully integrated with the company, team and office culture. You’re successful. You’re happy. You’re viewed as a respected leader throughout the organization.

How will you get there?

30 days:

  • Go through onboarding and meet the key leaders of the practices

  • You’re getting to know the management team, process, their strategy moving forward and how their M&A strategy relates to that

  • ·You are starting to understand how they evaluate deals, how they close deals and why they’ve passed on previous deals

 60 days:

  • You are comfortable around the management team

  • You have taken a deal and worked it through the process

  • You understand the success factors of the organization


    90 days:

  • You are starting to take deals through their process pipelines

  • You are increasing their deal pipeline by understanding what’s happening in the market that aligns with their strategies

  • You know the M&A landscape as well as overall market trends and how it relates to their strategy


    What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA  +

  • 6 + years in corporate development, investment banking, management consulting or other transaction-related experience

  • Successfully worked on M&A processes; either transactional, market research, strategic/financial analysis and valuation

  • Proven accomplishments working across multiple project timelines with extended cross functional teams

  • Stronger interpersonal and written communication skills, delivering at the executive level

  • Ability to travel up to 35%
